Hello, lovelies!

I don’t usually post on Tuesdays but I wanted to give you the details on my Halloween costume! I’ve been obsessed with The Wizard of Oz since I was a little girl, and I read Wicked before the musical came out. The Wicked Witch always interested me, but Wicked turned that interest into an obsession. Elphaba is one of my all-time favorite characters. I fell in love with the musical in college. I’ve actually seen it 3 times. I don’t know why, but despite my love for Elphie, I had never dressed up as the Wicked Witch of the West for Halloween. I had to fix that this year.
The Dress
I had been lusting after the Delores Sleeved Swing Dress from Unique Vintage for months. This costume and my $10 birthday coupon code were the perfect excuses to finally buy it! Sorry about the shitty picture! This dress is so comfy, I could literally wear it every day. I need it in all of the available colors! The dress needed a bit more volume for this costume, so I added a black petticoat.
The Accessories
I didn’t want to paint my arms and legs green, so I rocked opera length gloves from Amazon and these stockings from Modcloth. I also wore my favorite Chase & Chloe heels.
The Wicked Witch would not be complete without her pointed black hat, a gift to Elphaba from her bestie Galinda (with a Guh). Unfortunately, this hat is not currently en vogue, so I just got a cheap one from Target.
The Face
I started with a primer, as always. Next, I filled in my brows with ColourPop’s Creme Gel Colour in Workout. Figuring out the green skin was tough. I ended up using ColourPop’s Super Shock Shadow in Empire for my contour and Cusp for my face, neck, and chest. I hit pan on a brand new eye shadow, but it was totally worth it. This costume called for a smokey-ish eye, so I used Jet and Tink. I drew on my winged liner in Workout, and I smudged Jet on my lower lash line. In the book, Wicked, Elphaba’s lips are described as black, so I decided to rock Ultra Matte Lip in Friday. I finished the look with Sugarpill’s false eyelashes in Hush.
The Wicked Witch
All I’m missing are some flying monkeys and a broomstick!
How was your Halloween? What did you dress up as? Let me know in the comments! xo
