Wow! It’s been a long time! Sorry I’ve been so MIA. Life got a bit crazy, and I needed to take a step back for my own sanity. Things have calmed down, and I’m working on getting back into the groove of things. I absolutely couldn’t let International Women’s Day pass without writing something.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for raising me to be a strong, opinionated, hard-working woman. Thank you for encouraging me to speak my mind and make my own choices. Even when you think that what I’m doing is crazy, you’re always there to support me. Thank you for showing me that I can do whatever I put my mind to, and that my opinion matters.
Thank you to my dance teachers. You nurtured my grace and confidence.
Thank you, Carondelet. You taught me the meaning of sisterhood and feminism. I learned that women of all walks of life can find common ground and support each other. Even though I left almost a decade ago, I still carry your lessons and love in my heart.
Thank you, sorority I refuse to name. If you know my story, you’re probably wondering why I would thank a sorority that was so damaging to my self-esteem. Looking back at it now, this sorority actually showed me how strong I am. I learned that even when a large, powerful, influential group is trying to make me conform, I am strong enough to hold onto my individuality.
Thank you , Chrystal, for being an amazing mentor. When we met almost a year ago, I had no idea that my life would change as much as it has. I never thought that I would be able to work for a company that I believe in so strongly while also building my own brand and business. You have taught me so much already, and I learn from you every day. Seriously, how many bosses actually encourage their employees to build their own businesses and help them grow their businesses? It’s so inspiring to be around a woman who constantly empowers other women and helps them without expecting anything in return.
How are you celebrating International Women’s Day? Is there anyone that you want to thank? Let me know in the comments! xo

Even though I took the day slow to put a bit more attention to myself than to everything else, I also thought of a lot of things today! I was inspired by all the amazing quotes people were posting! I remembered historic figures who were brave, took a stand, and helped creating changes we live today. I remembered strong female figures in my life who have inspired me. It was a good day to be grateful, and to think of the things we have to work on for a better society!
If I wasn’t on social media I wouldn’t have even know about IWD! It’s crazy how we change so much as we grow. I know I have changed my opinions on so many things.
How awesome that you have such a wonderful boss and how awesome to take your bad experiences and turn them into life experiences you can learn from. I mean I guess that’s what you have to do with bad experiences.
