Makeup Monday: ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip Review

Hello lovelies,

Like so many of you, I missed out on the first ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip release by mere minutes. When the time came for the second release, I stalked the website for 15 minutes before they went live. I had them, and a Brow Colour, in my shopping cart well before the release. At 6 pm EST on the dot, I checked out and managed to get all 4 shades! They actually shipped the next day, and arrived a day early!

I a-dumbledore you, too, Colourpop!

While I was getting ready for work on Saturday, I decided to try them all out. I paired each of them with Lippie Pencils that were already part of my extensive collection. Please excuse the awful hair. I was exhausted from a tough week. At least my makeup was on point! For all of these trials, I lined and filled my lips with the Lippie Pencil before applying the Ultra Metallic Lip.

The first pair I tried was Ultra Metallic Lip in Man Eater with Frick n Frack. It looked like an almost bronzy-ish rose gold. I loved it.

Next, I tried Ultra Metallic Lip in Kween with Lyin King. It was a beautiful red with gold glitter. If I ever feel the need to look like a Gryffindor, I will definitely wear this.

I decided to pair Ultra Metallic Lip in 3-Way with Jonesing. I love a good plum lip, and the gold glitter in this one is mesmerizing.

Finally, I paired Ultra Metallic Lip in Zebra with Dopey. I loved it so much, that I decided to wear it to work.

5 hours, a protein bar, an apple, and 2 water bottles later, and the metallic magic wore off a bit. It was still somewhat sparkly, but it definitely faded more than an Ultra Matte or Ultra Satin does in the same amount of time an activity. Filling my lips with the Lippie Pencil first definitely helped the color stick, so the fading wasn’t as noticeable as it could have been. Overall, I love the new Ultra Metallic Lips from ColourPop, even if they don’t last as long as other Colourpop options. I would absolutely buy it in other colors. When I wear them, I’ll make sure to keep them in my purse for touch-ups.

Did you manage to get ahold of any of them? Which shade is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! xo

I missed the first ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip release by mere minutes. I love a good metallic lip, so I made sure to get them during the 2nd release.

*This post was in no way sponsored by Colourpop. I purchased everything with my own money.
  • I don’t normally wear lipstick but I’ve been wanting to finda color I like. I love these colors especially the last one. It looks great on you. I may just have to get this lipstick a try 😉

Thank you! I highly recommend anything from Colourpop. They’re cheap and cruelty-free, and the color payoff is amazing on any skin tone.
