Hello, lovelies!
As you know from Makeup Monday: Bold Fuchsia Lips, I love lipstick. I couldn’t let National Lipstick day pass without writing a post about it. Yes, I know I’m a couple days late, but I actually wrote this on the big day. I decided to have some fun with my ColourPop Lippie Stix, Lippie Pencils, Ultra Matte Lips, and Ultra Satin Lips collections. If you haven’t seen it already, you can check out my Ultra Metallic Lips collection here.
Pinkish Nude and Gold
I started with ColourPop’s Lippie Stix and Lippie Liner in Frida. It’s a lovely pinkish nude, but it’s a little too pink on me. I brushed Sugarpill’s Goldilux Loose Eyeshadow on top to soften the pink.
Purple and Pink Ombre
I love matte lipstick, so I was super stocked, when ColourPop released their Matte X Lippie Stix. For this look, I used Climax and Poppin. I lined my lips with Climax, filled them in with Poppin, and used a lip brush to blend the two shades together. Because matte lipsticks dry quickly, they don’t blend very well. I used the lip brush on the tube, so I could pick up more color to blend.
Shades of Gray
This is one of my favorite looks. It’s super different, like the Black and Blue look, but it isn’t as obvious. I used Lippie Liner and Ultra Satin Lips in Petit Four. I also used Ultra Satin Lips in Marshmallow in the center of my lips, so they wouldn’t look so flat.
Black and Blue
I love a good black lip. This time I used ColourPop’s Lippie Stix in Bull Chic. I also used Sugarpill’s Lumi Loose Eyeshadow in the center of my lips, which gave them a blue sheen. I wanted to give my lips a bit more dimension.
The lighting changes between pictures, because I took them in the evening.
Did you do anything fun for National Lipstick Day? Do you love lipstick as much as I do? Let me know in the comments!
I absolutely love lipstick as well. It dresses any occasion. My favourite colour on your is the purple and pink ombre – the colour is just gorgeous.
Thanks Soraya! I think that may be my favorite one, too.
What a fab look!! You can pull of any color and look gorgeous! xo
Thanks, Anca! You’re too sweet!
I knew you would do something fun to celebrate! You look fabulous!
I couldn’t let the day pass by without celebrating! Thanks, dear!
I didn’t know it was National Lipstick day! I usually go for a nude or a light rose color – goes better with my old skin. ha!

I’m sure nude and light rose look fabulous on you, but I truly believe that you can rock any color at any age! You can carry anything with confidence.
I find it difficult to find a shade that looks decent on me. I use revlon colorstay (it has to be able to stay put and not migrate to my teeth) in a shade called premier plum. I have bought other shades thinking they would suit based on color in the tube, only to try them on later and be disappointed. I need to be able to do swatches first, dammit!
Oh and it’s me, Fancy-Pants 😉
Hello, Mrs. Fancy-Pants! It can be so hard to find shades that look good. One of the things I love about ColourPop is the fact that they usually have swatches on their site. Unfortunately, if your skin tone is slightly off from the models’, they aren’t much help. Sephora also has some lipsticks in their store brand that stay well, and they have samples in the store that you can swatch before you buy. They also have a great return policy. 🙂
Slay!!
Yaasss kween! <3
