One thing that basically everyone in this country can agree on is The Golden Girls. How could anyone not know that it was a perfect show? I grew up watching reruns with my mom. I own every season on DVD. Hell, I’ve even watched the spinoff, The Golden Palace! When I came across this fabric, I had to combine my love for sewing with my love for the Girls.
The Golden Girls ended literally 31 years ago, but people of all ages still love and appreciate it. It gave us so many great one liners, like “Better late than pregnant!” Recently there have been cruises, restaurants, cafes, and even a convention dedicated to our favorite ladies! The show has devoted fans who weren’t even born yet when the original run ended! Several companies still pump out merch, including my new favorite Loungeflys. I still need to collect Dorothy and Blanche!
I have a serious problem when it comes to hoarding fabric, but this Golden Girls print is still one of my favorites. I already had a hoodie, but I felt like I needed the girls on a dress. I adapted one of my favorite patterns, the Selfie Shirt from George + Ginger patterns, into this adorable summer dress! It’s currently available in Shop Casstastrophe!
Are you a Dorothy, Sophia, Blanche, or Rose? Let me know in the comments!
