You may have figured out by now that I love all things creepy and cute. Art by Kurtis Rykovich falls perfectly into both categories. Unicorn Cosmetics introduced me to his art. He designs art for a lot of their products, including their famous unicorn brushes and their recent eyeshadow palette. Naturally after receiving his art with my brushes, I had to start stalking him on Instagram.
As you can probably tell, I’m a clothing hoarder. I’ve cut down on my clothing shopping, but I can’t resist a good print. I can’t describe the excitement I felt when my favorite artist decided to release kimonos!
During his first kimono drop, I got my hands on a Kurtis Rykovich Wednesday Addams kimono. It’s delightfully oversized, light, and flowy. Wednesday is even holding a little Pugsley voodoo doll! I couldn’t be more obsessed with it. Unfortunately, the drop was limited, and I only got one kimono.
I was so excited when Kurtis announced another kimono drop. He actually loved one of the pictures I took in my Wednesday, and he asked to use it on his Instagram and website! Obviously I was honored and gave him permission. This time, he released all of his designs, and I ended up with two more.
The first one I picked was Bellatrix Lestrange. Yeah, yeah, Bellatrix is evil and horrible, but she’s fascinating. And Kurtis’ version of her is gorgeous. Of course she has her wand, but she’s also holding a little Voldemort voodoo doll.
I also couldn’t resist Luna Lovegood. Luna is just so whimsical, and Kurtis captures her spirit perfectly. Naturally, she’s wearing her signature spectrespecs and radish earrings, and she’s holding a copy of The Quibbler.
Now I’m just waiting for him to release them again!
