Last week I took my mom and my brother to the Heart, Joan Jett, and Elle King concert. I grew up listening to Heart and Joan Jett, and Elle King is one of my absolute faves, so I had high hopes for the concert. It was kinda hot, but soooooooooo humid. I’m pretty sure I ended up sweating off half of my makeup. I wasn’t about to let the humidity get to me, so I grabbed a $16 strawberry margarita and got ready to rock.
Elle King
I’ve been obsessed with Elle King for a few years now, and I was so excited when I saw that she was touring. She came out wearing a white tee with black jeans, boots, and a black hat, looking like a badass rockstar. I always worry that artists won’t be as good live, but she was possibly even better. I couldn’t stop myself from dancing and singing along.
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts
I have to say, Joan Jett still fucking ROCKS. Seriously, she’s such a badass. I could listen to her all day. She and the Blackhearts played some of my favorites, including Bad Reputation and Do You Wanna Touch Me. I felt like I was transported back to the 80s, and it was awesome.
Heart
Seriously, who doesn’t love Heart? Ann still has her crazy pipes, and Nancy still kills it on her guitar. I wish they played more of my favorites, but they were still incredible. They closed the show with Stairway to Heaven.
What I Wore
I knew immediately that I needed to wear my Princess Unicorn Mermaid Whatever Dress from Rebellia. It paired perfectly with a leopard print kimono. I tossed on my combat boots to add a touch of rockstar chic to my outfit.
This was my second concert this summer. Have you gone to any awesome shows?
