If you follow my blog, you know that I’m dedicating this year to finding my happy place again. I couldn’t think of a better way to start to climb out of my funk than with a self-care day! I was lucky enough to have the first several days of the year off from work, so I made sure to schedule some me time.
Rise and Shine
I’m an old lady now, so I physically can’t sleep past 8 am anymore. However, I did spend an extra half hour under the covers and watched some tv in bed. Unfortunately, the little ones depend on me, so I had to drag myself out of bed to feed the cats. At least they paid me in snuggles!
Breakfast of Champions
I don’t know about you, but I can’t start my day without a good breakfast. Instead of my usual breakfast of toast with eggs and turkey sausage, I made myself a little breakfast casserole with eggs on top. Of course I had a giant mug of pumpkin spice tea.
Skin Deep
Lately I’ve been slacking when it comes to hair and skincare, so I got myself some new products to play with. I applied a hot oil mask from Bumble and Bumble while my shower was warming up and activating a super relaxing Bubble Boss Shower Steamer. While in the shower, I washed my face with whipped soap from Glory Cloud USA. After my shower, while letting my hair air dry a bit, I relaxed with a face mask.
Hobby Time
Even on a self-care day, I can’t not be productive. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of sewing for friends, family, and my Etsy shop, so I decided to so some sewing for myself! I managed to make a hoodie and a bodysuit. My day, as always, revolved around food, so I did take a break to have some homemade soup and biscuits for lunch.
Snuggled Up
After all of that hard work sewing, I deserved a break. I turned on some trashy reality and curled up on the couch with a pot of tea, some cookies, a cozy blanket, and a cozier cat.
How to you spend your self-care days? Let me know in the comments!
