As I’m sure you’re all aware, shit is crazy right now. Everyone is self-isolating and going stir-crazy. A bunch of people aren’t sure where their next paycheck will come from. It’s so important for us to support our small business friends right now.
Obviously, not everyone has the extra funds to shop right now, but that’s not the only way you can support small business. Like and share their social media posts. Comment on their posts, so the algorithm will pick them up and show them to more people. If you have any of their products, post a picture and tag them. Write a review for them. These things may seem small, but they could lead to big sales for them.
If you do have some money to spend, and if you could use the distraction, here are some small businesses that I love:
Rebellia
I may be a bit biased, but Rebellia has some of the cutest clothes available. We hand-measure each piece, so we can create super detailed size charts, which means you can be confident in the fit of our clothes. We’re a 2 person operation, and I’m the only one who works from headquarters, so we’re still running as usual! We’ll be shipping orders until we’re told to stay home, so you can still look cute in quarantine.
Pop Soap
I’ve been following Pop Soap for a while, but I finally put in an order when they announced their new hand sanitizer last week. They shipped super fast, and it smelled amazing, so I immediately placed another order. Their products are handmade and vegan, which is super awesome.
Moveo Fit Co
You’re probably not able to get out to the gym right now, but Moveo Fit Co can solve your current workout problems. They have premium exercise mats with a microfiber top and non-slip bottom, so you don’t have to worry about sliding around while trying to do yoga. Their resistance band is a staple in my home gym.
Call It a Day
My dear friend Tess recently started a baking business. I haven’t tried her homemade pop tarts yet, but I can tell you from experience that her focaccia, especially the cheese bomb, is incredible. She can’t bake and ship right now, but she is taking preorders. You can contact her through her Instagram @theturkishbagel
Local Restaurants
Restaurants everywhere are closing their dining rooms, but a bunch are still offering takeout and delivery. Many that are completely closed still have gift cards available on their websites. Even small purchases can help the owners support their families and their staff.
Small Fabric and Pattern Companies
If you’re into sewing and crafting, now is a great time to shop with small fabric and pattern companies. A bunch of these fabric companies have ready to ship fabrics, and they have some awesome original prints available for preorder. The pattern companies do pdf patterns that you can download instantly and print. Some of my favorites are:
- Amelia Lane Designs
- George + Ginger Patterns
- Seweird Fabric
- Retro Stitch Custom Fabrics
- Patterns for Pirates
- Twisted Needle Textiles
- Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop
- Sweet N Charmed by Fabric Mail
- Shear Madness Fabrics
- Dream Seams Fabric
- Al’s Alley
- Zor-Elle Fabrics
- Threaded Candy Custom Fabrics

Too much in your closet? I’m also offering a deal on my virtual Closet Cleanses! We can hop on a video call, and I can help you with your Spring Cleaning. These calls are usually $45 per hour, but until you can now schedule for $30! Comment below if you’d like to schedule, or learn more here: http://cassiewearswhat.com/stylist/
I also just started a Facebook group. If you’d like to be the first to know about preorders, new releases, and deals, you can join here.
Some businesses are still able to ship things, but it’s important to remember that some of them are under Shelter in Place orders and may not be able to right away. Please know that whatever you can do to support them is greatly appreciated.
I’d love to support your small business friends! Tell me all about your favorites in the comments!
