We’re a few weeks into this pandemic mess, and things are definitely going to get worse before they get better. States all over the country are calling for everyone to shelter in place. Our shelter in place order in North Carolina started yesterday, but my county has had one since last week. It’s so important to stay home and flatten the curve right now, but it’s also essential to find ways to entertain yourself and stay sane.
Bust a Move
As the incomparable Elle Woods said, “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.” With all of the Instagram live concerts that our favorite artists are giving right now, you can host your own solo dance party! You can pretend that the concert you were looking forward to wasn’t cancelled while you get in some cardio.
Retail Therapy
If you’re lucky enough to not be too financially affected by all of this mess, now is a great time to shop! Lots of companies have adjusted their shipping, so they can still follow social distancing and shelter in place orders. Your orders may take a bit longer to show up, but they’ll give you something fun to look forward to! You can check out some of my favorite small businesses to shop with here. P.S. A lot of companies, including my own, are offering awesome discounts! You can use code JOINTHECLUB for 25% off at Cassie Creates What.
Spring Cleaning
If you’re like me at all, you always make excuses to procrastinate when it comes to your spring cleaning. This whole shelter in place thing kinda kills most of my excuses. Since you’re home anyway, probably with some extra cleaning supplies, now is the perfect time to tidy up! Need some help? I can help you clear out your closet! You can learn all about my virtual closet cleanses here. If you mention this post, you’ll get a $15 per hour discount!
Hobby Time
Our normal busy lives often get in the way of doing things we love. Whether you have a pile of unread books on your nightstand, a laundry basket full of new fabric, or several bags of yarn waiting to be knitted, it’s time to get cracking!
Binge
A lot of people are trying to encourage others to be productive, but in times of stress, it’s important to do what you need to do for yourself. Do you need to escape for a while? Now is the perfect time to indulge in some insane reality like Tiger King, Love is Blind, or 90 Day Fiancรฉ. I’m a weirdo, so I’m binging horror movies.
Is you area under a shelter in place order? What are you doing to stay sane during this apocalypse?
